My final project gave me the opportunity to explore and refine my basic understanding of residential design and explore the logistics of this type of project. La Grande Ourse is a high end condominium complex located in the heart of the old port of Quebec City. Its spectacular high ceilings, open concept, and picturesque views of the city will fulfill the needs of well-established professionals. The inspiration for la Grande Ourse’s design, was influenced by its location and its historical context. Hence, the design has flourished from the idea of first habitants of Quebec, which marries the refined materials associated with the French civilisation and the natural raw materials of the Iroquois.
