The birth of a baby can trigger a jumble of powerful emotions, from excitement and joy to fear and anxiety. Vida Nueva Birthing & Wellness Clinic has been inspired as a challenge for my final project. Located in the heart of Westmount, Vida Nueva has been designed to provide a welcoming and “retreat-like” environment for new parents as they embrace a new chapter in their lives. The clinic will prepare both couples and single mothers for the birthing and post-partum process in various ways.The vision for Vida Nueva Birthing & Wellness Clinic is to recreate a resort environment within the city. Psychological balance has been considered by stimulating a “getaway-feel” which stabilizes powerful emotions. Color, seamless finishing, natural furnishings, layouts and materials have also been considered to define a harmonious and contemporary space.
